Accessing data on the NAIADES portal

Historically, the ECLA Cluster has been responsible for collecting and administering all the data from regulatory monitoring of water bodies for the various biological compartments (ichthyofauna, macroinvertebrates, macrophytes, phytoplankton, diatoms), physico-chemistry, as well as physical and environmental conditions.

Since 2017, this task has fallen mainly to the Water Agencies, which are responsible for managing and disseminating regulatory data in their respective basins, with the exception of data on ichthyofauna, hydromorphology and temperature, which remain the responsibility of the Centre.

These data are centralised at national level and gradually made available via the NAIADES portal dedicated to surface water quality data.
