ALAMODE - A LAke MODElling platform
The ALAMODE modelling platform, developed by ECLA in collaboration with engineering consultant SEGULA, comprises several elementary building blocks for modelling, calibration-validation, uncertainty estimation and modelling management.
These functions are implemented in different packages coded in Python:
- okplm: 0D Ottosson-Kettle-Prats (OKP) semi-empirical model (Prats & Danis 2019), the result of a coupling of the Ottosson & Abrahamsson (1998) and Kettle et al. (2004) models, calibrated on a water body surface temperature database derived from Landsat imagery also produced by ECLA (Prats et al., 2018; Simon et al., 2014)
- glmtools: package for running the one-dimensional vertical thermodynamic model GLM (General Lake Model, Hipsey et al. 2019)
- triburaty: package used to estimate the characteristics of lake tributaries, in particular flow and water temperature. For flow simulation, the package implements a daily hydrological model developed by INRAE's HYDRO research team: the GR4J model (Perrin et al., 2003), optionally coupled to the CemaNeige snow model (Valéry, 2010)
- cuspy: package for implementing linear and non-linear uncertainty analysis methods, calibration methods and global sensitivity analysis methods.
The okplm and cuspy packages can be downloaded from INRAE's GitHub: : https://github.com/inrae/ALAMODE-okp, https://github.com/inrae/ALAMODE-cuspy. The other packages will be made available progressively.
