SISPPEO (Satellite Imagery & Signal Processing Packages for Earth Observation)

SISPPEO is a processing chain in the form of a Python package for creating scientific products and extracting synthetic information relevant to Earth observation (water and land surfaces) from satellite optical imagery.

The main features of SISPPEO are as follows:

  • Massive processing and production of "high-level" scientific products (images) representing various biophysical characteristics of the earth's surface: 15 algorithms currently implemented
  • Mass extraction of zonal statistics using different aggregation criteria
  • Compilation of image time series
  • Diachronic comparisons

The satellite products currently supported are Sentinel-2/MSI (ESA, THEIA) and Landsat 8/OLI (USGS), as well as images produced by the GRS correction algorithm. However, SISPPEO's modular architecture has been designed so that new image readers and processing algorithms can be added a posteriori, without any additional development effort. So it's an evolving, collaborative tool for all users of space data!
